Cleopatra My dog rules because she is my trainer, my companion, and my rock. In the months that she underwent training, never once was it I training her, but her training me. She taught me forgiveness and also compassion, something I was having trouble truly understanding. As my companion, I knew that no matter what hardships I endured, I could come home to love and unwavering faith. She was never judgmental and she has remained fiercely loyal. She has been my rock, my shoulder to cry on during times of great duress. When encountered with change, she remains steadfast and loving. |
Lucy My dog, Lucy, rules for several reasons. In April 2010, Lucy tore her ACL, which we later found out was caused by bone cancer. She had to have her back leg amputated because of this and now has three legs. Even though she has been through a lot of pain, she is still a happy dog and loves playing with her favorite toys. She is always there to cheer us up, greet us at the door, or play a good game of tug-of-war. Lucy continues to bring joy to my family and continues to make us smile every day. |
Maggie is an Ambassador of goodwill. She overcame an abusive home where she was kicked, thrown, and choked. She “could” get by on her looks, but she’s more than a pretty face. She’s a princess who graciously walks me 2 or 3 times a day. “What’s up doc” is her current favorite toy. Cats groom her, boy-dogs protect her, and neighbors patiently wait their turn to pet her to get her famous “I love you” wiggle. She has lots of tricks-the latest is stealing her cats’ food. If she didn’t bark at the doorbell on TV…..she’d be PERFECT!! | |
