MisterBentley Adopted out from the APA and returned multiple times… MisterBentley rules our hearts! If this goofy Basset/Black & Tan hound had a human voice, he might say: If it were up to me, I would have never returned to APA, but my humans always misunderstood me. To them growling was aggressive; for me, its play. I love to growl, and bray (when I do I sometimes startle myself, ‘Was that me? – squirrel!’ I went through three families until I found one that didn’t throw me out for being me. This southern gentleman found his humans and his kingdom; I’m home. |
Mr. Rolo, a 15-year-old beagle/jack russel mix rules because he is very smart and intelligent. Mr. Rolo was a rescue dog and has been loved by his master to this day. He knows when danger is near and will comfort you when things are down. He rules the house by having his own bed, pillow, blanket, and his stuffed toys: Molly, Sammy, & Kayla. He meets you at the door after a long day at work and loves his Beggin’ Strips and chicken sticks. Mr. Rolo is the best dog in the world - he rules our world 100%! |
Ricky Foxx had an undistinguished racing career, until it was ended by a broken leg during his 55th race. Improper treatment at the track led to infection, and eventually amputation when he was released into adoption months later. Missing a leg barely slowed him down, and he enjoyed chasing soccer balls. His second career was as a blood donor for the St. Louis Animal Blood Bank. After completing his two years’ service, he retired again, although at age nine he maintains an active hobby career keeping his home safe from the UPS delivery man. | |
